Welcome

Hello and welcome to my blog. If you are like me, you like fishing, and like me you may not be the best at it. You may just be starting out or like me you have fished for years, but only as a fun filling pastime. You may be just like me in that though you like to fish, you have no interest in making it a profession. You my friend are an amateur. Embrace it. It’s nothing to be ashamed of and do not let anyone make you feel second stringer (bad pun) just because you don’t know all the ins-and-outs of fishing. We all have to begin somewhere and if you are like me then you just want to know enough to be able to enjoy fishing. With that in mind, I hope you will return from time to time to check out my blog.

First let me tell you a little something about me. I am over fifty and I live in the state of New Hampshire. I have fished leisurely for most of my life. I have caught Bass (both largemouth and smallmouth), crappie, perch, trout (all species) and a variety of other fishes. I do NOT have an extensive knowledge base about all different types of fishing poles, fishing lures, baits, lines or other variables within fishing. If you are looking for professional advice or expert opinion then you are at the wrong blog. What I do have is experience fishing with the gear that I use, the baits that I use and in the waterways that I fish. Some of the things that I will say along our journey will be useful to a variety of waterways, but keep in mind that when I am talking about my gear, baits and presentation, that I am speaking of what worked for me on this day on this body of water.

One thing I have always disliked is when you meet someone who brags about the fish they catch, but when you ask them where they caught the fish they inevitably say… it’s my secret hiding spot. Arrrrgh I can’t stand that. When I talk about the fish I am catching I will always tell you where. No secrets as far as the spots that I’m fishing. If you happen to be near the spot and want to catch fish then I wish you all the best. That’s what fishing is for and we, as brothers and sisters of amateur fishing, need to help make fishing the best we can for each other.

No one likes to go fishing when you don’t catch fish. Does it happen? Are there going to be days when you go fishing and don’t even get a nibble? Yes, it can and probably will happen but what I hope to do with this blog is to help minimize those skunk days and help you catch more fish.
